A standout feature is the extensive use of Forest of Dean Pennant sandstone across approximately 15,000 square metres of paving. The carefully selected paving, displaying a variation of rich tones, provide a durable, high-end finish that complements the surrounding Bath limestone and elevates the visual appeal of the area. Designed to create inviting public spaces, Southgate has become a benchmark for heritage-sensitive regeneration in a UNESCO World Heritage setting.

Our Contribution

As part of our commitment to maintaining the high-end finish of the Royal Forest Pennant stone paving at Southgate Bath, we carry out scheduled deep maintenance cleans and targeted gum removal throughout the year. This work is carefully planned around periods of higher footfall to ensure the paving looks its best when the area is at its busiest, helping to preserve its natural colour, texture, and premium appearance for longer in this prestigious and high-profile location.
