Overview
Spanning 56,000 sq ft and delivered on a £26.5 million budget, this landmark development occupies the former police headquarters site in the heart of Bradford City Centre. As the first premium, sustainable workspace to be introduced to the city in over 20 years, it marks a significant step forward in modernising Bradford’s commercial offering. Delivered in partnership with Bradford City Council, the scheme plays a central role in the wider regeneration strategy for the city centre. High-quality public realm enhancements were integral to the project, with durable and visually striking natural Porphyry stone paving installed to elevate the external environment, support high footfall, and create an inviting, contemporary streetscape.
Our Contribution
Following completion of the paving installation and ahead of client sign-off, we were brought in to address the common and often unavoidable issue of grouting bloom, which had compromised the appearance of the high-quality porphyry stone. The residue had significantly dulled the stone’s naturally rich and varied tones. After conducting a detailed on-site assessment, we carried out a specialist deep clean to safely remove the bloom and restore the paving to its intended finish. Working to a strict deadline in line with the site’s public opening, we successfully revived the vibrancy and character of the porphyry—delivering a clean, striking surface ready for handover and public use.
